About ECPM

The ECPM Course was established in 1991 in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry and the EUCOR medical schools of the Universities of Basel (CH), Freiburg i.Br. (D) and Strasbourg (F). ECPM is a university institute within the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel and is also a member of the Pharmacenter Basel-Zurich (Center of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Basel and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich).

The ECPM Course is accredited by the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Phaysicians (IFAPP) and certified by the University of Basel within the Bologna system.

IFAPP Syllabus

The syllabus of the Course programme covers all aspects of pharmaceutical medicine and drug development as defined by the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians (IFAPP, www.ifapp.org). This includes the discovery and development of new medicines, clinical trial methodology, good clinical practice and ethics, pharmacovigilance and epidemiology, biostatistics, regulatory affairs, health economics, project management, marketing and new therapeutic approaches. Participants will be involved in lectures, workshops, panel discussions and interactive learning. A faculty network of experts from European and US universities, pharmaceutical companies and regulatory authorities (including the EMEA and the FDA) carry the teaching responsibility.
