Course Content
The learning process of the course includes didactic teaching and places a great emphasis on interactive participation. Each module includes the following activities:
Lectures
State-of-the-art lectures and updates on important drug, diagnostic and therapeutic areas and issues. These will be followed by in-depth discussions. Summary, slides and reference list of each lecture will be provided in the course file.
Case Studies
Participants work in small interdisciplinary teams on ‘real-life cases’. Problems are analysed and discussed together with faculty members. Participants try to reach common strategy, which is the presented and defended in a roundtable discussion. Three weeks prior to each course module you will have the option to download the documents and background literature of the case studies from our homepage. We expect you to read the material in advance, in order to be able to actively discuss the problem.
Mini Case Studies
Short case studies enhance the modules with the aim to involve and provoke participants.
Continuing Education Seminars – ‘Frontiers in Drug Development’
On day 4 of each course module current topics, new trends and developments in drug development will be presented. Continuing education seminars are a mandatory integral part of the ECPM Course.

Interactive learning: e-learning
Our website comprises an interactive electronic learning system, which allows to download documents, to view film clips, to use glossary and to practice the content by completing examples of examination questions. The ECPM Course participants will receive a personal password which will be valid through the entire course to access this close under group. A chat room and the possibility to contact other participants and the teaching faculty are provided.
Self-assessment
A multiple-choice questionnaire for self-assessment of the acquired knowledge will be available at the end of each module on our website. The test comprises practice exam questions contributed by each lecturer from the lecture content.
