The European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine ECPM is the leading University Institute for drug development in Europe.  In the last 20 years more than 1400 experts from pharmaceutical and biotech industries, service industry, clinical researchers and governmental policy-makers  in integrated medical product development, regulation and market introduction have successfully absolved this postgraduate training. Many of these alumni are now in leading positions in the industry, governments or academia.

The European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine ECPM is a university institute at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel under the auspices of EUCOR, the European Confederation of the Upper Rhine Universities Basel, Freiburg i.Br. and Strasbourg.

The ECPM offers a range of Training Courses in the field of science-based drug development. Emphasis is placed on requirements for rational and rapid development of a new medicinal product for the global market. The courses provide comprehensive instructions for integrating cutting-edge concepts and best practices in medical product development and regulatory sciences.

ECPM provides the ECPM Course which is a postgraduate diploma course in pharmaceutical medicine/drug development sciences with 30 ECTS credits as well as a Master Course of Advanced Studies in Medicines Development (MMD). In addition many complementary modules for continuing professional development such as Leadership and Biobusiness Development are offered.

ECPM Research is active in quantitative pharmaceutical-related and health care-related research. ECPM Research staff provides training and education in quantitative research methodology.
