M7 Ethics and Regulation in Clinical Research

Objectives

The implementation of clinical research projects can expose patients and healthy volunteers to risks. The fact requires diligent review of research projects not only regarding their scientific quality but also regarding their ethical adequacy and appropriateness. How can be balance the risk benefit of our project?

This course offers the basic principles of ethics in clinical research and gives insight into moral judgement and ethical reflexion and argumentation.

Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the participants should be able to describe:

• Key principles of ethical considerations during clinical research and development
• Ethical concerns for designing, conducting and reporting the results obtained through the conduct of clinical trials
• International and national principles and guidelines which have to be followed when performing a clinical trials
